Functional classification output file?

Hi again

Is it possible to use MapMan to classify a list of genes into "bins"? i.e. get an excel output file with a break down of all the individual genes under the relevant bin headings? (If not - do you know the best program to use for this - with "meaningful" classifications!)?

Thanks! S

Hi,

sorry for my late reply I had some hardware problems.
If you just have several genes (hundreds)
you might want to try this:
http://mapman.mpimp-golm.mpg.de/general/ora/ora.html
Just paste in your ids ad control and group

PageMan: An interactive ontology tool to generate, display, and annotate overview graphs for profiling experiments

Is it possible to backtrack to each of the IDs of the genes/proteins classified using the program described below?

Or can that feature be added to MapMan, I really like the bin classification and the p values that MapMan gives, but then I have to search wich genes are the ones that belong to the bin that has a significant p-value after the wilcoxon analysis and correction.

Many thanks!
