Using MapMan

Modifying mapping files

Modifying mapping files

Hi,

I have been using MapMan for last couple of months. So far so good. Exciting experience.
I have been using Ath_AGI_TAIR9_Jan2010.m02 mapping files. When I look in to this mapping annotation (by downloading the .txt file from MapMan store) find that some genes are not included in this mapping. I have gone though the tutorial section 'how to preparing custom annotations'. I am wondering instead of generating an entirely new custom mapping, if we can modify the exiting Ath_AGI_TAIR9_Jan2010.m02 file by including new annotations. How to open and edit .m02 files. If we can do so , it will be great .

Again, will TAIR10 mappings be available soon ?

Regards,

Pankaj Barah

Dear Pankaj Barah,

to modify a mapping file, please obtain the text or MS Excel version of it from the MapManStore
(http://mapman.gabipd.org/web/guest/mapmanstore). The files are in a simple table that can easily
be modified. Please see the MapMan manual section 3.1 for further details.

best greetings,
Marc
