Using MapMan

Unable to read configuration

Unable to read configuration

Hi,

I just tried to install Mapman on my mac.
Unfortunately, the downloading of MapMan pathways, mapping and sample data files were not successful because of the following message.

Unable to read configuration:
java.io.FileNotFoundException:/Users/******/.ImageAnnotator.xml (Permission denied)

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Yiannis,

this seems to be a file access problem  - did you install
mapman on the mac or was it installed by another person
with different (i.e. root/admin) rights?

You should make sure that you chose a folder for storing
the downloaded mapping and pathway data for which you have
write (and maybe even execute) rights. In a command line
terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) you can type the
command

ls -l /Users/******/

to see the access settings for the directory. If you could install
MapMan somewhere on your system you could store the down-
loaded data in the same location.

Please feel free to ask if the above did not help you.

Best greetings,
Marc
